EB-5 Reboot – New Rules, New Players, New Opportunities
It has been almost ten years since an influx of mainland Chinese investors poured in to revitalize the then-underutilized EB-5 program. Interest has now spread to all corners of the globe. The challenges of today's EB-5 landscape are drastically different than those in the years past. Economic uncertainty in China, restrictionist voices on Capitol Hill, and growing scrutiny from the SEC and USCIS are factors that have cast a shadow on the most economically successful preference category in U.S. history. At the same time, government data shows demand from foreign investors remains at a historic high. Migration trend data shows investors from the Middle East, India, Vietnam, and Mexico form the fastest growing segments of EB-5 investors.
