Opportunities and Challenges of Cannabis: A New Economy...

Please join us for this informative program as we discuss, in light of recent state and local legislation, how practitioners can familiarize themselves with the licensing process at State and Local level. We will also discuss the professionalization of the cannabis industry, including topics such as bringing employers into compliance with State and Local laws (including employer-employee relations) and nurturing the development of a responsible and economically sustainable business model.

Speakers:

Avis Bulbulyan, the Chief Executive Officer of SIVA Enterprises, a full-service cannabis business development and consulting firm, was recently appointed by The Department of Consumer Affairs as one of the members of California state’s new Cannabis Advisory Committee under the Bureau of Cannabis Control. He also currently serves as the President of the Los Angeles Cannabis Task Force and the Education Chair for Cannabis Legal Accounting Business Law (CLAB).

As one of the industry’s leading cannabis business authorities, Avis is a highly sought after speaker and a valued expert resource for many national news sources and publications.

Margo A. Feinberg, partner at Schwartz Steinspair, Dohrmann and Sommers,  has served as lead counsel in countless State and Federal litigation matters, arbitrations, and administrative hearings, primarily in the area of labor and employment law.  She recently contributed key language to Prop 64 and the LA City Cannabis Ordinance with a key focus on the workers in this new burgeoning industry.  She is counsel to UFCW Local 770 which represents workers in this industry and which has partnered with employers to navigate the City laws for the past 8 years.
