Program Date:
Tuesday, February 26, 2019

Program Description:
Please join us at the Construction Law Subsection’s "Annual Construction Law Update and Flaig Award” program. The 2019 Flaig Award will be presented to Candace Matson of Sheppard Mullin in recognition of her many achievements in construction law.  Donna Kirkner, former Chair of the Subsection, will be presenting the award.

The Robert Flaig Award is a prestigious honor presented by the Los Angeles County Bar Association, in commemoration of the late Robert Flaig, to an attorney who exhibits legal excellence in the construction industry and is highly respected by his peers. The nominating committee for the annual Flaig Award lists these criteria for assessing potential candidates:
•          Achievement of personal and legal excellence as a construction lawyer;
•          Ethical, honest, and enthusiastic practice of construction law;
•          Teaches other construction lawyers, directly and by example;
•          Gives time, talents, and means to the community; and
•          Demonstrates leadership among members of the Construction Law Bar and
           Construction Industry Organizations

This year's Annual Update portion of the program will be presented by the Construction Law Group from Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton. The program will cover new developments in California Construction Law in 2018. The handout materials from this program are considered a "must have" for anyone who practices in the construction law area.
