Handling Insurance Claims After the Woolsey Wildfire -Malibu

The Los Angeles County Bar is pleased to present a free 90-minute seminar on how to handle your clients’ insurance claims after the Woolsey wildfire.

Due to the devastating Woolsey wildfire, homeowners who want to rebuild already face the daunting tasks of making an insurance claim, getting their land cleared, and obtaining permits to rebuild. In some cases homeowners and business owners will experience potential legal problems with their insurance carriers. This seminar will explain how lawyers can assist homeowners with their claims after this natural disaster.

  • The underinsurance problem in California
  • What insurance policies do and do not cover as a matter of law
  • Insurance company obligations in handling property insurance claims

  • Filing bad faith lawsuits after natural disasters

  • Statute of limitations and other pitfalls
