Please join us as our expert panel discusses the pros and cons of trying a case remotely by video, and whether that is a realistic possibility when trials resume. In addition, the panelists will discuss a variety of trial-related topics, including the importance of and what to include in a trial brief, the challenges of trying and presiding over cases that are not day-to-day, whether a closing brief or closing argument is “better,” whether to request a statement of decision, and if one is requested, how to preserve as many arguments on appeal as possible.
The panel will consist of two well-known and highly respected bench officers, including a former trial court judge-turned appellate justice for the Second District and an experienced trial court judge, and two seasoned trial lawyers. Panelists will also share their perspectives on how best to prepare for trial and how to most effectively present one’s case to the factfinder.
