Advanced Mediation Skills Practicum

This interactive course includes extensive practice and coaching in advanced mediation skills and a minimum 10 hours litigated case training, including 9 hours of lecture and 9 hours of role-playing, observation, coaching and feedback. MCLE available: 18 hours general,1 hour Elimination of Bias, 3 hours of Ethics

Lecture topics include assessing the conflict, consensus building, problem-solving techniques and managing multi-party agendas, legal ethics, who is at the table - analysis and implications for process, distributive and integrative bargaining, using case studies from a range of areas (e.g., personal injury, employment, contracts, real estate and property). The practice of mediation is highly focused on the interactions not only between the disputants but also between the disputants and the third party neutral. The advanced practicum aims to develop more advanced skill sets of the reflective practioner as well as key elements, principles and staregies in interventions of the interactive processes in mediation. Participants practice more advanced skill sets and participate heavily in role plays and other group facilitations. 

Prior mediation training is required for this course.

PARKING

  • If you enter the garage before 9 AM, a $10.00 early bird flat parking rate will apply. No validation is required.
  • If you enter the garage between 9 AM and 4:30 PM, parking is $2.25 each 15 minutes until the maximum daily rate ($27.00) is reached.
