Program Description:
What is the importance of the Professional Land Surveyors’ Act?  What is a Record of Survey, when is it needed, and what are the requirements?  What are the effects of conflicting surveys and how can you resolve them?  In this program, we will discuss the importance of the Professional Land Surveyors' Act (Business and Professions Code §§ 8700 – 8805) including when to file a Record of Survey, and how to navigate issues arising out of conflicting surveys including disagreements with the County Surveyor.  Mr. Knell will also discuss why and when you need to file a Record of Survey for properties located in California as well as the mapping process including reasons for filing a map and how the filing of the map imparts constructive notice.
