Ethical Issues for Healthcare Lawyers

Whether you represent or work with health plans, health care providers or patients, attorneys practicing in the health care and life sciences fields face ethical questions on a daily basis.  Practitioners face questions of regulatory compliance, corporate codes of conduct and ethics, and corporate social responsibility considerations, all of which are unique and specific to the health care industry. At the same time, the attorneys themselves are also regulated by the Rules of Professional Conduct imposed by the State Bar of California.

This 2 hour Q&A panel will highlight some hot topics in attorney ethics that are likely to arise in a variety of health care and life sciences areas.

Speakers:
Augustavia Haydel, General Counsel at L.A. Care
Thomas E. Jeffry, Partner at Arent Fox LLP
Ritesh Srivastava, Compliance at Avanir Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (formerly part of the  Department of Justice’s Medicare Fraud Strike Force)

This seminar qualifies for 2.0 hours of Legal Ethics MCLE credit
