The CEQA Guidelines (Revisited): A Follow-Up on the Proposed Amendments and Their Potential Impact on Environmental Review

Presented by the Environmental Law Section and Land Use Planning and Environmental Subsection of the Real Property Section

In November 2017, the Governor's Office of Planning and Research released comprehensive amendments to the CEQA Guidelines that will now go through the formal rulemaking process with the Natural Resources Agency. This release follows up on a preliminary draft of amendments to the Guidelines made public in 2015. This panel convened in late 2015 to discuss that preliminary draft, and is reuniting now as a follow-up lunch program to discuss the proposed amendments (as further amended over the past 2 years) and how they will impact the land use planning and environmental review process.
