Presented by the Commercial Law & Bankruptcy Section
Legal and economic events in the most recent six months have created new issues and authorities in insolvency related determination and discharge of tax liability of interest to lawyers, accountants, trustees, debtors and creditors. In addition to these new legal issues and authorities, recent economic events and covid carnage have made longstanding legal traps for the unwary relevant again after the period between the Great Recession of 2008 and the presently challenging economic environment. The five presentation panel members are a bankruptcy court judge, government and private practice lawyers and an accountant and bankruptcy trustee who have collectively more than 200 years of experience in the practical income and property tax issues occurring in resolution of insolvency related debt restructuring.
