Presented by the Appellate Courts Section
The Supreme Court’s 2019-2020 term included a number of first-time or first-in-a-long-time developments, including temporary Court closure, live-audio telephonic oral arguments, opinions in July, and federal executions. The Court issued momentous opinions on issues spanning the President’s financial records, LGBTQ discrimination, religious rights, abortion, immigration, and more. The panelists will recap the term’s historic developments and delve into its most significant decisions and important non-decisions (on issues such as the Second Amendment and qualified immunity), the Court’s most dynamic players this term, and what’s in store for next term.
